Clinton Lord - A Brief Background

Clinton LordI began my career in the magazine publishing industry as an Art Director. Over the years I worked in a variety of categories of publication from Consumer to Business and even internal newsletters. Some of my other general design experience includes, CI Design, Annual Reports, Fliers, Brochure, Poster Design, to name but a few.

I have, in the past few years, gained tremendous experience in Online Marketing, Search Engine Optimisation (SEO) and Website Design. I have designed and optimised numerous static websites (HTML), Joomla websites and WordPress websites.

I started freelancing in 2004 when I was retrenched. This continued as a sideline while I worked at subsequent permanent positions. In 2007 I was again retrenched however my employer Business In Africa, requested that I consult as a freelancer Art Director on their magazine (Business in Africa Magazine) and on other client internal newsletters (Holcim Indaba, Holcim Asiphephe and SITA Newsletter.

I then decided to start freelancing full-time. Later that year I registered Sapphire Dawn and focused mainly on print media. At the end of 2007 I relocated to Cape Town and launch Sapphire Dawn as a Cape Town based company this decision proved to be very successful.

In early 2008 I started designing static HTML websites for a few of my clients, this also proved to be a good area of growth as I have designed numerous websites for clients since, using Dreamweaver, Joomla and WordPress.
More details can be found in the proftolio section of this website.

I also offer my services as an Internet Marketing Consultant to Blue Magnet Web Intellect and The Training Room Online working with them and their clients to offer Online Marketing, SEO and Design Solutions.

Some my own clients for whom I offer similar services include; Serenity Guest House, David Ungar London, FruittiJewels and Cape Town Pride.
More information on my clients and the work that I have cone for them is available in the profolio and client section of this website.

This year I was approached by Glenn De Swart of Cape Town Pride to join the Board of Directors running their Online Marketing Campaign, working on the 2010 Cape Town Pride Festival.
