I worked for Business in Africa first as Senior Designer then as an Art Director for a period of 10 months when I was retrenched due to the fact that the company had to cut back and it was not viable for them to retain a full-time Art Director for a limited number of publications. As part of the retrenchment agreement was that I would continue to do the design and layout of the company's own magazine Business in Africa Magazine as well as maintain the existing client base, and that I would have first option to quote on any new projects.
Business in Africa liquidated in South Africa in 2008. However I still continue to do magazine design and layout for the sister company Business & Financial Times, working on their magazine Business Times Magazine, which I recently took over and re-designed. Some clients included Holcim (now Afrisam), Edcon, SITA and Rand Water to name just a few.
